Hey remember the hilarious Doctor Who gif amusement we had yesterday? Well tumblr decided to get in on the fun! Ben, Tits, myself and a few others reposted the gif set as a critique of this ridiculous notion that a gif set can only be posted once by it’s original creator, even if you credit the creator in your post (say if, you didn’t know the url of the original post). After that everyone is somehow obligated to reblog the original set. Oh, unless you post a gif as a reply to something. Then you can totes repost, and you don’t even need to credit the original creator. Weird by-rules man.

ANYWAY

Well tumblr, having been cyberbullied by 19 year old fangirls, decided to uphold their sparkling record on censorship, and pulled our posts criticizing this. And the reblogs of support those posts received. Without informing us. I just figured it out when I went to read Ben’s wrap-up of the whole kerfuffle where he links to our original (har) posts. Gonzo. I wonder if anything will happen to the mob that harassed Cassie for, not an exaggeration, the ENTIRE day yesterday.

Cassie removed her post from her blog willingly sometime yesterday when even the Tardis couldn’t expand large enough to allow enough room for all the twats bombarding her with Goatse sized assholery, but ironically it (along with the post by the original “artist” (lulz)) hasn’t been scrubbed. Only those of us who posted it as fair use with a message other than OMGTENTH4EVERBB had our opinions on the matter silenced.

As The Big Lead astutely points out, the Maxim Hot 100 is stupid. I know they have to work with who is hot (like, physically) AND hot (like, in the media), but there are some puzzling, baffling, incorrect, confusing, stupid, astounding decisions on this list.

In an effort to help right the wrongs of the hot-girl-world, I will attack this like an NFL Post-Draft Column. Who was picked too high and who is undervalued? Let’s find out!

Over-Valued Gals

Olivia Munn (2) - If she doesn’t have all of those “private” cell phone pictures “hacked” she’s not anywhere near the top.

Lea Michele (14) - Bitch can sing. But not a top-15-kind-of-voice. And no way she’s hotter than Kate Upton. What a joke. Also, nose.

Kristen Stewart (15) - She looks like a marginally attractive middle school girl. I think Maxim’s website team agrees; If you try to click on her gallery it sends you to Charize Theron’s. Because Kristen’s gallery is just an album full of vacant stares and sunken in tank tops.

Jennifer Love Hewitt (20) - Look, we all have a soft spot for her. Can’t Hardly Wait, right? But the guy that was in charge of photoshopping her Maxim photos this year had to take long-term disability leave due to crippling arthritis from the amount of time his hand had to soften and rotoscope those images. (That’s probably true, but technically not.)

Taylor Swift (26) - She looks like a meth head from Tennessee that works at a convenience store. The one that smokes way too many cigarettes and smells like expired chicken biscuits.

Under-Valued Gals

Cobie Smulders (65) - My homie and famous-female expert, J-Red would agree.She’s just about the only reason to watch How I Met Your Mother these days.

Miranda Kerr (40) - What the shit. Like, SERIOUSLY. She belongs higher up. Plus, she bangs that elf from Lord of the Rings. That guy can shoot multiple arrows at the same time. That shit cray.

Kate Upton (39) - This is easily the biggest error on this list. She could literally be #1 right now. This. And This. And I don’t even like blondes!

Alison Brie (Not on the list) - I don’t know what Maxim’s stupid determining equation is, but how can the girl with all of those looks, on the funniest show on television NOT be here?Also, boobs.

Rosie Jones (Not on the list) - She’s from England. Also, it is kind of impossible to find a picture of her with a shirt on. Enough reason ALONE. (Don’t search for her at work. That would be an ill-advised career decision.)
